The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He conducts tests and reviews of cleaning appliances. His focus is on mopping robots and vacuum combinations. These multitaskers can be ideal for those looking to remove mopping from their list of tasks. They feature impressive mapping capabilities and obstacles-avoiding capabilities, and some even wash and refill their mopping pads for a hands-off clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model you should choose if you want an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It is smaller than other options which makes it easier to maneuver into tight spaces or under furniture. It features a 220-degree Lidar which, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, provides some of the best navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in the form of a robotic vacuum. It's got a battery of 4600mAh that can last for up to 170 minutes when mopping and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). It will even return to its dock to replenish its battery in mid-clean.

It is very quick and does a great job of cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted areas extremely quickly, and the hardwood floors in the living room, and hallways in one go. The suction motor's 8,000pa will quickly pick up dirt, droppings and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects rugs and the double side brush assists in removing debris from corners.

The mopping performance is a little less impressive, though not by a lot. The rotating mop spins fast and uses 2.2lbs to clean dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arms protrude out slightly more than other robots, which can be helpful to maneuver around tight corners and on baseboards. The same front arms can be used to clean up larger debris, like broken toys and fallen books.

Another good thing is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mop I've tried. It is quieter and doesn't make as much noise when vacuuming or mopping. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it has to utilize a specific mopping solution and is sold separately. It's simple to install and performs well, but it's something you'll need to keep an eye on when you purchase this vacuum for the sole reason of mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It is a powerful machine for cleaning with a variety of features.

The device is equipped with an efficient cleaning system that incorporates LiDAR sensor technology and an RGB camera. This enables it to map out your home and identify furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean efficiently and effectively. This leads to an efficient, consistent clean which is also relatively fast.

In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can reach many different surfaces. They can reach corners or baseboards, as well as other hard-to-reach spots. The side brush can be stretched to reach the floor close to walls and other fixtures. Additionally, the mop pads can be cleaned and dried to prevent the build-up of dust and reduce the smell.

App-based customization is another notable feature. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the suction strength and select a back-and forth or slightly random pattern. You can also choose the number of passes, which will determine how quickly it can move around your home. You can also decide to disable the side brush to avoid damaging carpets and rugs.

This device has a fairly high price tag but comes with a large selection of innovative features. It is important to keep in mind that the device is subject to recurring expenses in the form mopping supplies as well as regular maintenance. For example the brushroll has to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter will need to be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad must be replaced every one to three months.

The robot vacuum that mops has a high rating on Amazon and includes a broad variety of physical automation features. The vacuum also has an power button that doubles as a 'Clean button' and a Home' button to send it home after cleaning. It also comes with a multi-functional dock which automatically empty the trash bin, fills up its water tank, and wash and drys its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

The Shark Matrix Plus will be the ideal option for busy professionals or anyone who wants to keep their home tidy without spending too much time doing chores. Its incredibly fast performance, sophisticated navigation and long battery life make it easy to maintain a clean house with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a two-in-one mop and vacuum. It is able to perform vacuuming as well as mopping. The robot is divided into two components which include a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped in and out and a mopping module which has microfiber pads. It's not the most modern thing to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming but it does mean that you don't have to worry about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.

Our test participants discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming as well as mopping. Its most impressive feature is its precise floorplan map, which it utilizes when cleaning. It was easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture carpets, rugs and other obstacles. The app also offers the option of setting 'No-Go zones' and virtual barriers that help to shield certain areas of your home from being cleaned with mop.

We also noticed that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up hair of pets. It was able to collect some of the hair that shed by our cats, and even got into some of the nooks and crannies on our stairs where other robots had struggled. It was fairly silent and also had a few nice jingles that indicated when it was about to start or finishing its work.

The biggest flaws were its lack of sophistication and the necessity to change out the modules when switching between mopping and vacuuming. The app is not able to store multiple maps. This could be an issue if your house has several floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a ideal choice for people who want a smart device that can vacuum and mop.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. However, it does have distinct features that make it worth considering. The X1 Omni's biggest draw is its enormous dock that doubles as a charging base as well as housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a cleaning sink as well as the 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically empties.

The base comes with a couple of buttons for control that let you manually begin a cleaning task or recall the robot, or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure.  auto vacuum  of the buttons to turn off a child lock that is a great touch for parents worried about children playing with the vacuum.

Similar to other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni uses its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path and eliminate them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

This can cause the X1 to get stuck if it gets caught in an obstacle, such as a power cable draped over a rug. It won't work until you remove it manually. While this was rare however, it was a gruelling experience when it happened, especially since the X1 Omni does not come with an "stuck" status alert on its application.

The X1 Omni is unable to automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You'll need to manually switch between the two, which isn't too bad apart from the fact that mopping pads aren't washed and dried between uses, which can lead to mildew or mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed its sleek, modern base and mopping pad. It's a major change from the utilitarian black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot, and a welcome sight in a space that is dominated by clunky, boxy units.
